The location of the Mecure Edinburgh City-Princes Street Hotel was perfect . We were close to everywhere we wanted to go by walking and the train station made it convenient for us to travel out of town on different adventures.
Kimberly at the front reception desk was wonderful. She really tried to make our stay a memorable one. The entire staff was kind and more than just nice. The service was very good. The dining staff was attentive and we looked forward to the breakfast each day. We intend to stay at the Mecure Hotel on Princes Street again.

Room had a great view of the "hill" (forget the name). Room amenities were great and space was great especially for the 3 of us (junior Suite). Concierge (gentleman in a kilt) and Miguel at the front desk offered exceptional care and service and made our time there extremely enjoyable. Hats off to both of them. We left someone and it was returned to lost and found and we got it back which was great and unexpected! Location, location you can't beat it! You can walk to everything! Would go back again in a heartbeat!

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.
The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.
Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.
For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.
Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.
One of my favourite cities in the world. I went there as a child regularly, buy hadn't been for a quarter of a century.
The historic centre is still wonderful, and walkable. And it's now tbh much nicer than when I was a kid, much cleaner. And has things like trams.
It's perfect by train, because the station is slap-bang in the nice bit and is not overwhelmed by volume of miserable passengers like in e.g. Paris or London.
And all the really good bits like the castle, Arthurs Seat, Princes St and Scott monument, are all walkable.

Loved the architecture and the many alleyways that led to different parts of the city - lots of places to eat and drink - trams and buses are an excellent was to get around. Very busy place but if you come off the Royal Mile it’s a little quieter

We took a taxi from our hotel to the start of the Golden Mile then walked into the Castle quadrant, There were a great number of visitors at the Castle mostly foreign tourists, we enjoyed being there, however there was a lot of scaffolding and gantries being built and a number of maintenance vehicles parked which rather spoilt the views.
Edinburgh is a wonderful city, the atmosphere is brilliant and the Scottish people very friendly

A cosmopolitan city with a strong local atmosphere.
A cosmopolitan city with a strong local atmosphere. Great architecture. Fine museums of international standard. Local transport easy to use. Lovely views, also outside city if venturing to Stirling or Dundee. Not a lot of restaurants serving Scottish food, but they can be found if you look for them. Will definitely be coming back.

Edinburgh is Beautiful so much to see so much Greener than most cities I visit! I never met 1 person from Edinburgh which is a shame! Great Transport around the City and a 2 great beaches Portobello & Crammond!
You have to check in at the pub, which is only around the corner from the hotel. Absolutely loved the staff! They were ever so accommodating, especially with complimentary drinks at arrival. Loved the location with it being a good walk to Edinburgh City Centre - where there was a plethora of independent cafes and bakeries selling all sorts of goodies.
When you're done exploring Edinburgh, then the bed doesn't go amiss, along with the en suite facility.
To reiterate, a great family owned establishment at a great location.
Finding the hotel was easy enough, it was a little out of the way from the city centre, but still within a walkable distance to everything. The staff were really friendly and we felt looked after, couldn't really complain about the breakfast; not the best I've had, but considering it was included for a very reasonable price; it's a bit of a bargain, especially when visiting Edinburgh around the Christmas period. The room was a good size and off the main road, very quiet and all facilities were working as expected.
Me and my friend have an annual trip to Edinburgh for a couple of nights, and usually use this hotel. It's so close to all restaurants and bars and within walking distance of all of the shops. The Dome is just a short walk away; that's our favourite place for cocktails and food! The station is also just a short walk away, too. Rooms are clean and well maintained, the breakfast is self-service but good enough for a city centre hotel, and the staff are all helpful and friendly.
This is a very safe and beautiful location across from a major park in Edinburgh.
One of the big advantages you get with his hotel is the knowledge of the host. He has outstanding recommendations and will help you in anyway possible. I was particularly pleased that he switched my room after checking in. This is one of the better value hotels I have been joyed and my trip to Ireland and Scotland. The rooms are a bit small but Everything else is truly delightful.
Great location between George and rose street in new town. Very close to the tram to get from and to the airport. The walk to old town, the royal mile and Edinburgh Castle was just a short and easy to do. But most of all the staff was very responsive, great to work with and very helpful during our stay. I can not say enough about the staff and location proximity to everything you want to do, plus a great view of Edinburgh Castle from the front door!
Great location(only 7 minutes walk from the Waverly train station), room was great, and helpful staff. We've stayed at 3 Ibis Styles hotels during our trip to the UK and Scotland and we have to say that this hotel was the best of them all! Staff were attentive and friendly. Our room was acceptable in size and spacious, bed was comfortable. Great breakfast and coffee was soooo good!
Definitely would recommend staying here whilst visiting Edinburgh!
What you see is what you get. Truly a great place to stay in the city centre. A tram stop is situated in the same street as the hotel, the bus station is a wee walk away, as is the train station. Lots of restaurants near (I recommend the italian one beneath the hotel!) and also quite some sight seeing spots near, like Edinburgh Castle and Dean Village. The room was clean, pretty spacious and the bathroom was okay.
very centrally located so that we could walk most places in old town and new town. There is no on site restaurant but that was not an issue for us because there are so many fabulous restaurants and pubs nearby. We also enjoyed exploring the area on foot, so bring comfortable shoes! Edinburgh is a beautiful city to explore and the Princes Street Suites made for a wonderful place to rest at the end of the day.
Awesome location right next to historic locations, Victoria St in Old Town Edinburgh, and minutes walk to Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, etc. great vibe in the hostel itself, clean bathrooms, Rey helpful reception staff (had only one day and wanted to get a good taste of things to do)… we walked the Royal Mile and hiked up Calton Hill for a 360 degree view of Edinburgh on recommendation. Great experience!
The hotel was very close to the city centre without being directly in the centre. Excellent transport links, right outside a bus stop and a 5 min walk from Haymarket Station.
The room was very big, lots of plug sockets, TV with lots of channels.
Cleaned daily.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast add on options
I would stay here again if I was to come back to Edinburgh.
This hotel is perfectly placed for a visit to Edinburgh. On the doorstep of everything we wanted to see. Parking was a short walk away and was discounted by the Hotel, making it very affordable for a major City Centre. Staff were always friendly and accomodating. Room was great. Clean, comfortable and plenty of room. Will definitely book this Hotel again on our next visit.
Excellent location, bus stop right outside the hotel. On check in, Lewis was amazing, full of information about Edinburgh and very helpful. Breakfast was very good and the room was comfortable but dated. I believe the hotel is in the process of being updated. All in all a very good, reasonably priced hotel close to the city centre
The room was quiet as requested and spotless. They provided the usual toiletries and more importantly the aircon worked very well - which is not usually a given in European hotels. The district itself was quiet yet it was easy to reach the city centre from there. We would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Edinburgh.
This is a lovely new hotel in the heart of Old Town. The rooms were beautiful, spacious and modern. The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. You were always greeted warmly. Loved the food as well as the innovative cocktails we tried. Everything was first class. We will definitely be back!
This is the best location of any hotel in Edinburgh in my opinion; literally NEXT to the train station and right on the bridge from Old town to New town; it was perfect. We stayed in two hotels in our stay, and this FAR exceeded the other!
Very clean and quiet room, warm, comfortable bed, tea-making facilities, great shower, good value in a good location for a bus ride into Edinburgh city centre. Fully meets what I expect from a Wetherspoons hotel. Car park is a bonus.
Great hotel, close to city centre and superb value.
No cooked breakfast due to Covid restrictions but substitute was more than adequate.
Will definitely stay again when next in Edinburgh
